Bubonik Funk
Bubonik Funk
Bubonik Funk is an American Rock band, from Charlotte, North Carolina formed in 2006, consisting of Stefan Kallander (guitar, vocals), Dylan Ellett (vocals, organ), Nick Mcowen (bass guitar), and Daniel Allison (drums, vocals). With their funky, guitar-driven soulful sound, Bubonik Funk are regularly cited as a groove and jam band. However, the band's individualistic style draws from many sources and transcends any one music genre. Bubonik Funk did not release songs from their initial album virally, as they preferred to develop their sound and style further.

Bubonik Funk is held in high regard for their emphasis on independent management, full control of the creative process, and a widening sphere of popularity despite any aid from commercial companies or record labels. In 2007, the band began playing shows in the Charlotte area, venues such as Tremont Music Hall, Neighborhood Theatre, and the Evening Muse. By 2009, Bubonik Funk had played as far north as Boston, and for college crowds of UNC Chapel Hill, East Carolina University, UNC Wilmington and Berklee School of Music in Boston.

As of 2010, the band has released two E.P.s. "OTB" and "Wink at the Devil". Both albums were self produced with a single production engineer, Dustin Hofsess. Creative control, album art and distribution fell in the hands of the band itself.

Bubonik Funk has played with respected musicians such as Soulive, Laura Reed and the Deep Pocket, Cyril Neville, and last July played Verizon Wireless prior to Phish. The band has done a 45 minute radio interview with Davakar of 106.5 The End and performed their song "Woman in My Basket".

The band recorded their third official album in July of 2011. The album will contain nine songs, more than any other prior album. The release date is set for 2012.
The Broadcast
The Broadcast
The Broadcast is a soul infused dance rock band formed in Brooklyn NY. The band relocated to Asheville, NC in the fall of 2010 to transition into music full time. For tour dates, music, and more log onto www.thebroadcastmusic.com

With powerful and soulful melodies, poly rhythmic grooves and an uncanny ability to connect with listeners it's no wonder The Broadcast has audiences across the country entranced. Originally formed in Brooklyn, NY in 2007, this young, six-piece soul infused rock band is known for their tight, high-energy performances that have vaulted them into the national spotlight.

After their relocation to the beautiful mountainside of Asheville,
NC, The Broadcast has grown into a full-time, nationally touring group. Their rise on the festival circuit has scored them press interest from such outlets as FlavorPill, VERVE and Cosmopolitan Magazine who described lead vocalist Caitlin Krisko's voice as "drenched in honey, and dripping with soul".

The Broadcast draws influences from the funky and soulful "Motown Sound" and the raw vocal prowess of singers such as Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin. Platinum blonde, Caitlin Krisko, whose commanding and captivating voice has been compared to the likes of Adele and Grace Potter, fronts the band with a prowess not often found in vocalists her age.

Their powerhouse performances are not only characterized by Krisko's dynamic voice but also by the interplay of the band. The trio of Michael Davis (drums), Matthew Davis (bass) and Tyler Housholder (percussion) create rich foundations of rhythm that drive the band. Guitarist Aaron Austin and keyboardist Rich Brownstein punctuate the group's sound with their soulful solo's and deep tonal textures.
Outside Soul
Outside Soul
Outside SOUL started out when bassist/vocalist Matt Grady and drummer
Barrett Certoma began jamming out on old school funk grooves together
way back in '09. After a few attempts at trying to get together a
solid group; they met up with saxophonist Devin Rauson and reconnected
with keyboard player; Andrew Orellana. The four young musicians took
their raw, funky sound to anyplace in Raleigh that would allow them
and began to create a small but incredibly diverse following of
different folks from all walks of life that couldn't resist the urge
to move and groove with this new music. Pretty soon the guys in O.S.
had picked up guitarist/vocalist Chris Macon who added a soulful
"layedbackedness" to the unique style cookin' up right here in the
Capital City.

Now the band has a solid repertoire of funky originals that are a hit
everywhere they go and some unique "remixes" of some classic funk/jazz
tunes. They've just recently brought on a new keyboard player, Nate
Myers, who brings his melodic, energetic vibe to the group. Outside
Soul has shared the stage with some of the area's best bands and has
played at just about every type of venue you can possibly imagine. We
look forward to finishing our album and continuing to 'do our thing'
in new cities with new people who love to have a good time. After all,
ain't that what it's all about?
